The 2023 Gaithersburg Book Festival returns on May 20 featuring more than 120 authors. This year, attendees have the opportunity to meet humorist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Dave Barry who will present his latest work, Swamp Story. Gaithersburg Mayor and festival founder Jud Ashman is a big fan of Barry and his new novel.
Barry will talk about his new novel and then sign books in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Pavilion at 4:15 p.m. on May 20.
In 2010, Ashman founded the festival which has grown to attract award-winning and best-selling authors, poets and songwriters from across the country. The mission of the festival is “to create a cultural opportunity that most communities don’t have.”
Ashman visited the MyMCM studios recently and talked about the festival with reporter Cheyenne Corin.
The Gaithersburg Book Festival returns on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue.
