Bethesda residents may experience loud construction noises and minor delays today because of Purple Line work near the Bethesda Metro Station.
Crews are excavating the Purple Line’s elevator shaft to connect it to Metro’s Red Line in Bethesda, so they are blasting the rock within the shaft. Blasting will occur during daytime hours and may occur in various shifts as needed.
A warning siren will sound before each blast.
