Charles Lee has been named the new head coach of the Charlotte Hornets the team announced Thursday. Lee was born in Washington D.C., grew up in Gaithersburg attending Quince Orchard High School.

Lee was a two-time Patriot League tournament MVP for Bucknell and was the conference player of the year in 2006.
Lee, 39, has been assistant coach in the NBA for 10 years. He is currently the top assistant with the Boston Celtics and won a championship ring in 2021 as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks.
