Highly recruited Quince Orchard High School running Iverson Howard announced Tuesday that he has committed to the University of Maryland. Howard, known for his highlight reel long runs, is the top ranked running back in the state and a top 30 ranked running back in the country.
Howard helped lead Quince Orchard to Maryland state titles in 2021 and 2022. The four-star was heavily recruited by big programs including Michigan and Florida State.

The 5’10, 195 lb running back is considered a big get for Maryland head coach Mike Locksley who has emphasized keeping local players at Maryland.
Howard will be joined in the backfield by another local star running back, Bud Coombs from DeMatha.
