For the past nine years, two public school football powers have taken turns winning the Maryland state 4A title. Wise High School in Upper Marlboro won titles in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2023. Quince Orchard High School won in 2018, 2021 and 2022.
Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, the Cougars and Pumas will battle for the 2024 Maryland 4A title.
Quince Orchard is 11-0, Wise is 11-2. Both rosters are littered with players heading to Power 5 schools.
