Raskin Unanimously Elected Ranking Member of House Judiciary Committee

U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, (D-8) said he was humbled to be elected unanimously by the House Democratic Caucus as the ranking (minority) member of the House Judiciary Committee in the upcoming U.S. Congressional session.

“I’m ready to lead Democrats in our front-line defense of democracy and freedom,” Raskin posted on social media.

“As Democrats, our historic assignment now is to stand in the breach to advance the legislation, amendments and arguments that will block a further descent into MAGA chaos. Democrats need to maintain the integrity of our Constitutional order to advance a positive agenda for the common good.” said the Takoma Park resident.

Rep. Raskin served on the House Judiciary Committee for six years, including as the Vice Ranking Member in the 115th Congress.

In the last Congress, Raskin served as Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. He also served as the lead House impeachment manager in the second impeachment trial of President Donald Trump and on the bipartisan Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States
