Mia Thornton from the Bravo reality series “The Real Housewives of Potomac” revealed in an Instagram post on Friday that she has cancer.
In the post, Thornton said she received a call from Johns Hopkins Cancer Center saying she needed to be evaluated further. However, despite this setback, Thornton remains hopeful.
“Even with such terrible news, I felt an extreme amount of peace and energy instilled that allowed me to remain strong,” she wrote.
Thornton says she does not know what kind of cancer she has, but she is “working with a phenomenal team of physicians and I appreciate the outpouring of support.”
Many people sent prayers in the comment section, with some of Thorton’s Real Housewives costars writing on her post wishing her well.
“Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong mama,” Robin Dixon wrote.
“You are in my heart & my prayers. Sending lots of love & healing energy to you beautiful,” Cynthia Bailey shared, while Tamra Judge added, “Prayers beautiful.”
