‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Star Found Guilty of DUI

Karen Huger, star of “Real Housewives of Potomac” (RHOP), was found guilty of DUI and other charges in Montgomery County stemming from an incident in Potomac in March in which Huger crashed her Maserati.

Huger reportedly crossed a median and struck multiple street signs and a tree but was not injured

She was arrested, charged and released by Montgomery County Police.

Huger, 61, was found guilty of DUI, DWI and negligent driving and not guilty of reckless driving.

She has appeared on RHOP since it premiered on Bravo in 2016.

In a statement, Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy said “Driving under the influence is extremely dangerous behavior. We prosecute thousands of D.U.I. cases every year and take them seriously. This defendant’s case was not handled any differently based on the facts and her traffic history. We encourage the public to always drive sober and practice safety on the roads.”

MCM is waiting to hear back from Huger’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, from the Reed Smith law firm. Bolden told People magazine, “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case.”

“We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf,” he said to People. “We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Huger faces up to two years. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 29, 2025.
