The Gilchrist Center will offer English (ESOL) and computer classes starting in January. Registration dates are set.
ESOL Classes
Registration for English classes will begin online at 6 p.m. on December 19. Classes start the week of January 20. The Gilchrist Center offers evening online and in-person classes, as well as Saturday online classes.
Computer Classes
Registration for computer classes will open online at 1 p.m. on January 10. Classes will begin the week of January 27. These free courses teach MS Excel, Word, Google Suite, email, filing, and more. Classes are available online and in-person in Wheaton, Gaithersburg, and East County.
Classes fill quickly, so mark your calendars. Registration is first-come, first-served. The requirements to participate in the classes are:
- Montgomery County residents only.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Registration is on a First Come, First Served Basis.
- All classes require basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Must have a computer and internet.
- Online classes are taught using the Zoom platform.
The Gilchrist Center will announce citizenship preparation class dates next month.
