Residents Rally with Hands Off Protests

On Saturday, April 5, thousands of county residents joined Hands Off rallies to protest the policies of the current administration. According to the Hands Off website 17 communities in Maryland signed up.

And many people from the county chose to rally on the National Mall, where news sources estimated the crowds at more than 100,000. The original permit filed with the National Park Service had projected 10,000.

The list of communities who registered their opposition to current governmental cuts included Olney, Garrett Park, and Leisure World among others.

Nationwide Hands Off organizers said there were 1300 rallies in all 50 states.
