Earlier this week the County Council voted to rearrange the current traffic pattern on Little Falls Parkway. Instead of all cars traveling north and south in two adjacent lanes, the new configuration will put north and southbound vehicles in lanes separated by a 17-foot median.
Falling short of residents’ efforts to restore the Parkway to pre-pandemic patterns, the compromise from the original “road diet” suggested by the Parks and Planning Commission seemed to prompt objections on all sides of the issue.
The reimagined version of the Parkway will be some time in coming. According to Parks’ comments on Tuesday it could take as long as a year to become a reality.
