Councilmember Craig Rice is accepting applications for his “Councilmember for a day” challenge. This challenge allows students to apply to become an honorary councilmember for a day, hopefully getting students more involved in local government.
Beyond the experience, the first place winner also gets $500. Second and third place finalists receive $250 and $100, respectively.
In a short video of two minutes or a short essay, students should describe the public policy issue they care about and how local government can improve lives.
Applications are due June 1.
