Ride On Implementing Schedule Changes Beginning Jan. 14

The Department of Transportation will adjust 23 Ride On bus schedules to improve efficiency and rider experience, starting Sunday, Jan. 14.

Twenty-one routes will have timetable adjustments that aim to improve timeliness. Besides these 21 routes, four routes have map changes—17, 18, 53, and 76. New schedules are available at the Ride On website.

Although service levels are staying relatively the same, the changes reflect a shift of resources to allow for more reliable service where there is higher demand.

Planned service changes occur three times each year in January, May and September.

 

The new schedules are as follows:

  • Route 8: Silver Spring-Wheaton; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 9: Silver Spring-Wheaton; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 10: Twinbrook Station-Hillandale; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 15: Silver Spring-Langley Park; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 17: Silver Spring-Langley Park; Map and bus stop changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 18: Silver Spring-Langley Park; Map and bus stop changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 20: Silver Spring-Hillandale; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 21: Silver Spring-Briggs Chaney Park & Ride; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 23: Friendship Heights-Sibley Hospital; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 31: Wheaton-Glenmont; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 32: Bethesda-Naval Ship R&D Center and Wodrock; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 37:  Potomac – Wheaton; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 38: Wheaton-North Bethesda (White Flint); Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 45: Rockville Regional Transit-Twinbrook/Rockville Senior Ctr; Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 46: Shady Grove/Montgomery College-MD355-Medical Center; Trip time changes on Sundays.
  • Route 47: Rockville-Montgomery Mall-Bethesda; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 53: Shady Grove-Glenmont; Increased trips on weekdays and map change.
  • Route 55: Rockville-Germantown Transit Center; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 57: Shady Grove-Lakeforest; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 64: Shady Grove-Montgomery Village; Trip time changes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Route 76: Shady Grove-Poolesville; Move stop at Quince Orchard High School to State Route 28 in front of the McDonalds, extend service to Poolesville Crossvines Golf Club.
  • Route 83: Holy Cross Germantown-Milestone Park & Ride-Germantown Transit Center (no Germantown MARC); Trip time changes on weekdays.
  • Route 90: Shady Grove-Damascus-Milestone (certain trips); Trip time changes on weekdays.
