The Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) public bus system, Ride On, is free Monday in celebration of Earth Day.
The department made the announcement via X Monday morning after the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) said they would also remove ride fares for the day.

MCDOT encourages riders to use the free Ride On Trip Planner app, which helps users navigate the system en route to their destination.
