The carousel at Rio lakefront in Gaithersburg will reopen Saturday with temperatures on the rise.
The reopening is part of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration, which kicks off with a parade at 10 a.m.

The carousel is Americana themed and allows for up to 38 adults and 30 children passengers, along with wheelchair access.
Guests can purchase a day pass that includes unlimited rides for $7, while adults ride free with a child under 42 inches tall. There is also a $31 ticket book option, which grants 10 single rides or 5 unlimited ride day passes.
Rio lakefront shopping center was developed around the turn of the century and underwent a $30 million renovation in 2020.
