Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard has permanently closed its location in Olney.
On Tuesday, the Olney Chamber of Commerce confirmed the news on social media.
“We’ve recently learned that Rita’s, long time Chamber member, has not renewed their lease and is now closed,” Olney Chamber of Commerce said in an Instagram post.
The franchise closed its doors for the winter season on Oct. 27. Since then, the sign on the building has been removed, and the decor and items within the building have been taken down.
Olney’s Rita franchise was located at 3233 Spartan Road, near The Mud Hut, Papa John’s Pizza, and M&T Bank. It’s unclear what will replace Rita’s Olney franchise.
