Ritchie Park Elementary School Principal Andrew Winter, who is charged with assaulting a student, was acquitted during a bench trial Monday.
The Gaithersburg resident had been charged with second-degree assault of a student, a misdemeanor, and was free on bail.
His was arrested following a joint investigation by Rockville City Police and the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. The investigation began on Feb. 9, the date of the alleged assault on a student.
According to an Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) spokesperson, Winter remains on leave and is considered still employed.
