The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD), alongside Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the County State’s Attorney’s Office, will host a gun buyback event on Aug. 27. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the RCPD station located at 2 W. Montgomery Avenue.
Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy says his office, MCPS, and RCPD donated money to make the gun buyback event possible. He urges any business person or individual who wants to help reduce gun violence to call his office at 240-777-7397.
“You can help us do these programs everywhere across this county. This is not a one and done,” McCarthy said.
