The City of Rockville will host a ribbon-cutting celebration to rededicate Clarence “Pint” Isreal Park on Saturday, July 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Clarence “Pint” Isreal, the park’s namesake, was a Negro League baseball player who lived part of his life in Rockville. Isreal died in 1987, but was inducted into the Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame last year.
Saturday’s event will include Rockville leaders, members of the Isreal family and live music. Vendors and kid friendly entertainment will also be present.
The park is located at 357 Frederick Avenue. In the event of rain, the celebration will be moved inside Lincoln Park Community Center.
Isreal Park encompasses 6 acres of land and features a baseball field, basketball and tennis courts, a pavilion and more.
