Billy Phillips of Rockville plead guilty to first degree murder for the death of his former manager, 66-year-old Geoffrey Biddle of Bethesda, according to Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office.
The 38-year-old Phillips could face up to life in prison plus an additional 65 years when he is sentenced on March 10 at 10:30 a.m. The State will be seeking the maximum penalty.
According to the State’s Attorney office, Phillips also plead guilty to home invasion, armed robbery and use of a firearm in the murder of his former manager on June 21, 2021. They added that Phillips was struggling financially and had been fired in April 2021 for fraud. Biddle’s bank card and checkbook were found in Phillips’ car upon arrest.
On June 24, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. officers found Biddle dead of a gunshot wound in his home on the 4600 block of Windsor Lane. Officers were performing a wellness check after co-workers were concerned when he did not come in to work.
