The Rockville Metrorail station bus stops will temporarily relocate for construction and paving work. The bus stops on the east side of the station will be moved to either the west side or on the street at MD 355 starting Tuesday, June 7. Signs will be placed at the Metro station to help riders locate their bus stops. Ride On staff will be onsite at the station to provide riders with assistance.
The paving project is expected to finish by June 26 and the original bus stops will be restored.
Ride On routes which will be temporarily relocated are:
- Route 44. Destination: Twinbrook. Temporary bus stop: F.
- Route 45. Destination: Rockville Regional Transit Center and Twinbrook. Temporary bus stop: T6.
- Route 46. Destination: Montgomery College and Medical Center Way. Temporary bus stop: A (westside).
- Route 47. Destination: Bethesda. Temporary bus stop: F.
- Route 48. Destination: Wheaton. Temporary bus stop: T5.
- Route 49. Destination: Glenmont. Temporary bus stop: T5.
- Route 52: Destination: Montgomery General Hospital. Temporary bus stop: T6.
- Route 54. Destination: Lakeforest Transit Center. Temporary bus stop: E.
- Route 55. Destination: Germantown. Temporary bus stop: B (westside).
- Route 56. Destination: Lakeforest Transit Center. Temporary bus stop: E.
- Route 59. Montgomery Village. Temporary bus stop: T4.
- Route 63. Destination: Shady Grove. Temporary bus stop: E.
- Route 81. Destination: White Flint. Temporary bus stop: F.
- Route 101. Destination: Medical Center. Temporary bus stop: A (westside).
- Route 101. Destination: Lakeforest. Temporary bus stop: A (westside).
- Route 301. Destination: Tobytown. Temporary bus stop: T6.
- Flex Rockville. On Demand Service. Temporary bus stop: Westside Kiss & Ride.
Metrobus routes that will be temporarily relocated are:
- Routes Q1, Q2, Q5, Q6. Destination: Shady Grove. Temporary bus stop: G.
- Routes Q1, Q2, Q4. Destination: Silver Spring. Temporary bus stop: D (westside).
- Routes Q5, Q6. Destination: Wheaton. Temporary bus stop: D (westside).
- Route T2. Destination: Friendship Heights. Temporary bus stop: C (westside).
The County’s Department of General Services continues to clean bus interiors with hospital-grade disinfectant. Bus filter and ventilation systems also are treated with a disinfectant.
Passengers are encouraged to wear face coverings when traveling by public transportation. MCDOT buses have a supply of face coverings for those who cannot provide their own.
Ride On bus service will remain free until July 2.
