Residents have a safe, free and anonymous opportunity to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, Oct. 29.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Rockville City Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will accept leftover prescription drugs at the Rockville City Police Station parking lot.

Residents may drive up and drop off the medications without even getting out of their car. Officers will be outside in the parking lot to receive the medications. The Rockville Police Station is located at 2 W. Montgomery Ave.
Prescription and over the counter drugs are accepted. However, illicit drugs, liquids, needles, or syringes cannot be accepted.
The collected medications will be destroyed by the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Residents can now also safely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medication, with no questions asked, in a new prescription drug drop box that is available to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in the front lobby of the Rockville City Police Station.
