On Saturday, the city of Rockville is hosting its annual Bubble Tea Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rockville Town Square.

The festival is co-sponsored by Taiwanese Sister Cities, an organization dedicated to “promoting, educating and fostering intercultural understanding and cooperation among the people of the United States and the people of Taiwan.”

According to the city of Rockville, the festival is family-friendly and outdoors. Attendees can expect to see Taiwanese cultural booths and activities, along with musical and cultural performances. The festival will also spotlight local Taiwanese food and beverage vendors.

The tradition began in 2019, when Rockville and Yilan City, Taiwan, formalized their sister-city relationship. Since then, the festival honoring one of Taiwan’s major cultural exports has become a community cornerstone.
