Vassos, 61, made a name for herself on The Golden Bachelor when she quickly hit it off with the show’s namesake, Gerry Turner, a widower from Indiana, but then suddenly departed the show when her daughter asked her to come home because of a difficult pregnancy. “You need your mom. Nothing is more important.” Vassos said in tears at the time. “I have to go and be a mom.”
“The Golden Bachelorette,” which was announced earlier this year, will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET this fall on ABC.
MCM talked to Vassos in December asking her at the time about the possibility of becoming the Golden Bachelorette.
