The Bethesda resident and his ownership group, which includes baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., basketball Hall of Famer Grant Hill and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, will eventually own 70% of the team.
“To own the Orioles is a great civiv duty. On behalf of my fellow owners, I want the Baltimore community and Orioles fans everywhere to know that we will work our hardest to deliver for you with professionalism, integrity, excellence, and a fierce desire to win games,” Rubenstein, who was born in Baltimore, said in a statement,

He has bestowed many hundreds of millions of gifts over the years including for repairs to the Washington Monument and for the panda house at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
