Montgomery County Public Schools announced that schools are going to dismiss “two and one-half hours earlier than the regular closing time.” The early dismissal comes in anticipation of emergency weather conditions this afternoon.
According to MCPS, any students enrolled in “morning pre-kindergarten programs and morning half-day Head Start will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m.” Any families with children enrolled in afternoon pre-kindergarten and other early childhood programs should know that these programs are canceled for the afternoon.
Additionally, after school and community activities scheduled in school buildings will be canceled for today. MCPS says that day care programs inside of school buildings will remain open as normal.
The Districtwide Boundary Analysis meeting scheduled at Walter Johnson High School tonight will be rescheduled for a later date.
