To celebrate Earth Day, Montgomery County is hosting the seventh annual GreenFest at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton on April 23. The free festival will be in-person at 1800 Glenallen Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
According to the website, there will be more than 60 vendors discussing environmental businesses, nonprofits and family friendly education opportunities. In addition, there will be local food trucks, plant giveaways and children’s activities like face painting and tree climbing. Other events at the festival include an electric car show, a Green Arts and Crafts Fair which will have locally created products for sale, and an interactive musical petting zoo.

The theme of the festival is “Invest in Our Planet,” according to the county’s press release.
Onsite parking will only be allowed for handicapped visitors, but free parking and a shuttle service from Glenmont Metro Station to Brookside Gardens will be available beginning at 10:30 a.m.. No pets will be allowed at Brookside Gardens unless they are service animals.
