Fire and rescue crews are on the scene after a “significant” explosion took place Thursday morning at the Friendly Garden Apartments in Silver Spring.
The building, located on the 2400 block of Lyttonsville Road, sustained heavy structural damage including a partial collapse according to Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service.
Piringer said injuries have been reported, some of them serious.
