Update: The county is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:45 p.m.
Wind gusts could reach 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service (NWS), which issued the warning.
Original: Parts of Montgomery County are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:15 p.m., per the National Weather Service (NWS).
Impacted locations include Germantown, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, Damascus and Poolesville.
According to NWS, the storm will have wind gusts up to 70-80 mph.
Also, a tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Monday. Earlier, NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the county and surrounding areas from 2-9 p.m.
