The National Weather Service (NWS) urges residents to stay aware as severe thunderstorms are likely Monday. NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Montgomery County and all surrounding areas in effect from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.
“Widespread damaging winds appear to be the primary threat along with large hail and isolated tornadoes.” NWS Baltimore/Washington wrote on social media.
Low clouds & areas of fog will quickly burn off this morning giving way to sun. Highs will push into the upper 80s & low 90s with heat indices around 100 east of the Blue Ridge. The heat & humidity will be fuel for severe storms likely between 2-9pm. #MDwx #VAwx #WVwx #DCwx pic.twitter.com/khMqZvqb5a
