The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced in a press release Tuesday they will begin providing sexual health services at a new Upcounty Sexual Health & Wellness Clinic starting Monday, Oct. 9.
The clinic will be located in the Sidney Kramer Upcounty Regional Services Center in Germantown.
A community open-house and ribbon-cutting event for the facility is planned for Thursday, Oct. 4 from 1-4 p.m.
The facility will be free or low cost and no one will be turned away based on their ability to pay.
Appointments are recommended to be made by calling 240-777-1609, but walk-in appointments are also accepted based on availability.
The release says HIV testing will be free to anyone regardless of age or where they live in Maryland, and STI testing and treatment will be free to anyone under the age of 26.
Those older than 26 will be charged based on a sliding scale, and the clinic will accept individuals covered by Medicaid coverage.
More information on the opening of the clinic can be found here.
