National Night Out (NNO) is celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 6 throughout Montgomery County. Free shuttle service is available from four locations to the Germantown NNO celebration. Takoma Park will close three street sections for NNO.
Germantown Shuttle Service
Ride On buses will provide continuous shuttle service from four locations to Montgomery College Germantown for the National Night Out event. Shuttle buses will start loading at 5:30 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Pickup points include:
- Germantown Park Community Center at 18400 Cinnamon Dr.
- The Hamptons at 19757 Crystal Rock Dr.
- Middlebrook Gardens at 19515 Frederick Rd.
- Germantown Transit Center.

Takoma Park Road Closures
The National Night Out event on Aug. 6 will close several roads and restrict parking. Officials urge residents to move their vehicles before the road closures take effect.
The following roads will be closed to traffic from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.:
- Maple Avenue from Philadelphia Avenue to Lee Avenue
- Maple Avenue at Grant Avenue
- Hancock Avenue at Grant Avenue
Parking is prohibited on:
- Maple Avenue from Philadelphia Avenue to Lee Avenue
- Lee Avenue from Carroll Avenue to Maple Avenue
Residents at 7513 Maple Avenue and 7515 Maple Avenue will be unable to leave or return to their residences during this time.
Detour Route:
Vehicles trying to access Maple Avenue from Philadelphia Avenue should go up to Carroll Avenue, turn left onto Carroll Avenue, and then left onto Lee Avenue to access Maple Avenue. The same detour applies for vehicles trying to access Philadelphia Avenue from Maple Avenue.
