Silver Spring Armed Robbery Under Investigation

An armed robbery Wednesday at the Holiday Inn near the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue is the subject of an investigation by detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police-Major Crimes Division.

Detectives ask the public’s assistance in identifying the two suspects in just released surveillance photos.

The suspects entered the Holiday Inn and approached the front desk demanding money. Before stealing the cash from the registers, suspect one assaulted the desk clerk.

The second suspect acted as lookout. They fled heading toward Washington D.C. in a black four-door Chevrolet sedan with unidentified tags.

After reviewing surveillance video, detectives forward the following descriptions:

Suspect one – a Black male in his late 30’s to early 40’s with a heavy build, approximately 5-feet 10 inches tall. He was seen wearing blue insulated coveralls with black boots. Armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, we wore blue coated gloves, a black knit hat and a black surgical style mask

Suspect two – a Black male of similar age and build to Suspect one. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gray New Balance shoes, black gloves and a large watch on his left wrist. He concealed his face with a black mask and goggle style glasses.
