Ronald Miranda-Montoya, 30, of Silver Spring, was charged with strong-arm robbery, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, failure to obey and disorderly conduct, according to Takoma Park Police.
On April 23 at 2:46 p.m., officers responded to a victim’s residence for a report of a strong-arm robbery that had occurred in the 900 block of East-West Highway. The victim left a business when he was approached by Miranda-Montoya, who demanded property.
When the victim refused to comply, Miranda-Montoya assaulted him and took his property, according to police.
Officers later found Miranda-Montoya at a bus stop. Police said he became hostile before being arrested.
He is being held without bond. His bail review is set for Tuesday, and his preliminary hearing will be held May 19.
