Noah Barnett of Silver Spring was sentenced Oct. 8 to 42 years in prison for his role as an accessory after the fact to first degree murder in the execution style deaths of two men.
In January 2020, Barnett, 21, pled guilty to the deaths of 23-year-old Jordan Radway of Laurel and 24-year-old Christian Roberts of Silver Spring. He also pled guilty to armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
“The sentence handed down today by Judge [Harry] Storm was a perfectly appropriate sentence for the criminal actions of Noah Barnett. Barnett set up a robbery that resulted in two young men being murdered and he will be held accountable for his crime,” said Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
Barnett is one of three men involved in the Jan. 28, 2019 murders, in which two victims were found deceased inside a crashed car in White Oak.
Andy Panton of Boyds was convicted of first-degree murder and faces two consecutive life sentences. Dontaye Hunt pleaded guilty to charges of accessory after the fact to first degree murder and will be sentenced Oct. 22.
According to court documents, Montgomery County Police responded to the 11600 block of Stewart Lane in Silver Spring for a car crash. Police saw a 1994 Honda that had collided with several parked cars, and then discovered the two deceased men inside the car. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner declared the cause of death of both Radway and Roberts to be from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, during an investigation, police learned through text messages, phone calls and video surveillance that the incident was connected to the sale of marijuana.
According to court records, Barnet provided a statement to police that he had contact Hunt on Jan. 28, 2910 and that “Hunt told Barnet that he was looking for a “move” and Barnett indicated that he would get him in contact with Jordan Radway so that he could rob him of marijuana. Barnet then provided Radway Dontaye Hunt’s cell phone number.”
Court records further noted that Barnet spoke with Hunt and Panton through Facetime where they discussed plans to rob Radway using guns.
