
Manuel Perez, 24, and Jonathan Cruz, 20, were charged with stealing wheels during a two-year span.
According to Montgomery County Police officers, the two Silver Spring men were apprehended March 4 at the 11000 block of Burnley Terrace following a report of an attempted wheel theft.
Equipped with a search warrant for the vehicle the men drove, officers found tires believed to have been stolen from a vehicle in the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive on March 3.

A police investigation determined that Perez was involved in three other wheel thefts dating back to December of 2023.
Then, on March 21, officers searched Perez’s residence and found other evidence as well as a firearm and fentanyl pills.
Both Cruz and Perez were charged with theft and other related charges and released on bond.
After further investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Perez, who turned himself on Thursday.
