A 91-year-old Silver Spring woman died following a collision in Aspen Hill on Monday, according to Police.
Initially, Henrietta Gomez was stable when she was taken to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) wrote in a release Thursday.
On Monday, police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to the Norbeck Road and Baltimore Road area at about 10:08 a.m. for a reported two-vehicle collision. According to police, Gomez was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra trying to turn left from westbound Norbeck Road onto Baltimore Road when she was struck by a driver going eastbound in a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. Gomez later succumbed to her injuries.
Police continue to investigate. The police department seeks witnesses in the collision and asks anyone with information to call Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives at 240-773-6620.
