Melody Waldecker, 54, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was killed in a carjacking incident in Sterling, Va on July 28. Waldecker was struck by the vehicle as the suspect fled the scene.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which occurred around 11:39 a.m. on the 21000 block of Towncenter Plaza. Deputies responded to a report of a carjacking and found that Waldecker had been hit by the car. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
A suspect in the case was arrested and booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. This investigation is ongoing, and additional criminal charges are to be expected.
