Montgomery College’s Parilla Perfoming Arts Center is celebrating its 40th season with an evening of stand-up comedy on Tuesday, Sept. 10. “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) cast members Mikey Day and Ego Nwodim appear with comedian Amy Silverberg who opens the show. This is Silverberg’s second appearance at the Performing Arts Center.
Actor, comedian and writer Mikey Day is a key cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and host of Netflix’s “Is It Cake?” Day joined SNL as a writer in the 2013-14 season. He gained recognition for his “Haunted Elevator (Ft. David S. Pumpkins)” sketch with Tom Hanks. Day has impersonated Donald Trump Jr., Merrick Garland, Jamie Raskin, and more. He started his comedy career with The Groundlings in Los Angeles after studying theater at UCLA.
Baltimore native Ego Nwodim is a regular on SNL. She stars in Jeff Baena’s “Spin Me Round” and Sony’s “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.” Nwodim is a fan favorite and regular on the Comedy Bang Bang Podcast. Variety named her in their 2021 New York Women’s Impact Report. She performed her one-woman show “Great Black Women…and Then There’s Me” at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.
