Montgomery Parks is welcoming community members and their furry friends to participate in a one-mile walk for the Petals and Paws event Saturday, April 1 at South Germantown Recreational Park.
Participants are encouraged to accessorize their dogs and take in the beauty of cherry blossoms and budding flowers on the HeartSmart trail. The free event is from 9-11 a.m. and will feature music, giveaways and other family activities.
Doggy Donuts will provide pet snacks for purchase while owners can treat themselves to light refreshments sold by TOIMOI Bakery. Families and their dogs can pose for a picture at the photo station and receive a free native Red Bud seedling for Arbor Day.
In addition to taking home a hand-painted blossom from the kids’ craft station, participants can also adopt a new canine member for the home through the local PetConnect rescue organization. Donations to the organization will be accepted, too.
More information about the event and parking locations can be found on the Montgomery Parks website.
