Ryan Spiegel, a Gaithersburg councilmember for more than 15 years, took his seat in Annapolis this week. He joins District 17 as a delegate to the Maryland State Legislature.
Spiegel, a Democrat, now represents residents of Gaithersburg and Rockville along with Senator Cheryl Kagan and Delegates Julie Palakovich Carr and Joe Vogel.
Members of the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee chose Spiegel to fill the delegate seat vacated by Kumar Barve, who joined the Gov. Wes Moore administration.
