Montgomery County now has a Sprouts Farmers Market. The store is open in Burtonsville.
“I want this store to be the neighborhood store for everyone,” Manager Victor Vasquez said during a grand opening ceremony on Friday.
It is the anchor for the Burtonsville Crossing Shopping Center, according to the county.
“This is one of the most important projects, I think, that we’ve done,” said County Executive Marc Elrich.
It is not only a place for regular grocery shopping, said Councilmember Kristin Mink, “this is also a destination grocery store. People are going to be coming to Burtonsville to come spend their money here in this community.”
According to the county, the project was in the making since 2018 as part of the “Build a Better Burtonsville” initiative.
The Burtonsville Sprouts is located at 15793 Old Columbia Pike.
Elrich stated in a release that it is the first Sprouts in the Metro Washington area.
