Sticky Fingers, a vegan bakery, opens their newest location Tuesday in the Takoma Park neighborhood at 314 Carroll Street NW. The new location includes a retail bakery and commercial kitchen in the space formerly occupied by Soupergirl.
The commercial kitchen will support the growing demand for mail order and wholesale bakery items and mixes. The bakey offers its top sellers including chocolate chip and Cowvin Cookies, brownies, and seasonal and classic cupcakes, as well as custom cakes.
Sticky Fingers has been making 100% plant-based sweets and treats for over 20 years since award-winning vegan pastry chef and two-time Cupcake Wars champion, Chef Doron Petersan opened her first shop in 2002. Sticky Fingers sweets and kits ship nationwide and are available for local delivery.
The new shop also features plant-based ham and cheese croissants, spinach and feta Danishes, sandwiches, artisanal vegan cheese, and house-made charcuterie, in addition to Soupergirl soups. The bakery also has freshly brewed coffee, which it sources from Alexandria-based Swing’s Coffee.
While the bakery has a “soft opening” Tuesday, it will gradually expand its hours and offerings over the coming weeks, and have a grand opening celebration for the community during February.
In February, Sticky Fingers Bakery will be open to the public from Mondays – Fridays from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. A grand opening celebration is planned for some time in February.
