A Northwest High School student has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) property.
MCPS issued this statement on the incident.
“We were informed by the Montgomery County Police Department of the arrest of an MCPS student most recently enrolled at Northwest High School. The charges include possession of a firearm on school property. This development is of great concern to our school community. We treat every day like there is the potential for imminent threat in all of our schools. We are thankful for the work of our law enforcement partners.”
Montgomery County Police has not yet responded to a request for information about the incident.
