Students at 2 Rockville Schools Are Sheltering in Place Following Threat

UPDATED Monday at 12:45 a.m.

Montgomery County Police announced that the students are now in a modified shelter-in-place. A modified shelter in place means that they can move around the school but can’t go outside for recess or other activities.

Students at two Rockville public schools have been ordered to shelter in place following a reported threat at Parkland Middle School.

Brookhaven Elementary School students also are sheltering in place.

Montgomery County Police officers are on the scene and investigating the validity of the threat.
