Duke Paul, a Los Angeles singer and song writer, joins Maryland musicians Sunday in a concert to benefit the Scotland AME Zion Church.
The church on Seven Locks Road in Potomac currently is rebuilding and expanding following damage from a flood in 2019.
The performance will be across the street from the Potomac United Methodist Church, 10301 Falls Road from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is in the church lot. There is no charge to attend but a $15 donation to support the rebuilding is suggested.
“This is the kind of project that needs all the support, from all walks of life, that it can get,” said Paul, 31, who began his career in Maryland.
“My understanding is that they need to raise about $10 million and are about two-thirds of the way there. As they say, every penny counts. And I can promise a great time with some very, very talented local musicians. We’ll be playing classic old rock ’n roll and blues that everyone knows well,” he said.
