Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) continue to investigate the July 26 armed robbery of a gas station in Gaithersburg. Investigators released surveillance video of the two male suspects on Tuesday and ask for the public’s help in identifying them.
On Monday, July 26, shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a gas station in the 10000 block of Fields Road.
MCPD says an investigation determined the suspects entered the gas station while an employee worked behind the counter. One suspect jumped over the counter while the other approached the employee and pointed an assault-style rifle at him. Authorities say both suspects demanded money from the safe and cash registers and assaulted the employee. According to an MCPD press release, the suspects stole cash from two registers and some property behind the counter before fleeing the scene on foot towards Shelburne Terrace.
