Montgomery County Police Department is currently investigating an assault and robbery that took place in a parking garage in downtown Silver Spring on March 16. MCPD released surveillance footage showing three individuals suspected of the robbery and assault; they are asking the public to come forward if they recognize anyone in the video.
According to police, the incident, which occurred around 8:08 p.m., began after a 20-year-old woman was walking to her car when three suspects approached her from behind and assaulted her. The suspects also stole the woman’s purse, which contained several credit cards, and fled the scene on foot, police say.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel treated the woman’s injuries at the scene.
According to police, the stolen credit cards were later used at the McDonald’s restaurant located inside Washington Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue in Northeast, Washington D.C.
