Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder in College Parkway Shooting

Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) announced on Sunday it identified a wanted suspect in connection to a shooting near Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus on Friday.

On Aug. 2, shortly before 4:30 p.m., RCPD and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the shooting at 400 block of College Parkway, where they found an adult male outside a residence. According to police, the male suffered a critical single gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to the hospital. The victim remains hospitalized and is now in stable condition.

Detectives been investigating the incident since the shooting. Police identify the suspect as Isaiah Warren Simpson, 33, of Washington D.C., according to RCPD Sunday press release.

Simpson faces an arrest warrant for attempted second degree murder, multiple degrees of assault and firearm charges. Detectives learned that Simpson had illegal possession of the firearm.
