Police said detectives are investigating a gas station armed robbery that occurred Wednesday in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers responded to an Exxon gas station in the 9300 block of Georgia Ave. at about 7:37 a.m., per a release from MCPD.
According to police, a victim said that at about 6:42 a.m., “a Black male, wearing a black Northface jacket with the hood up, black ski mask, black sunglasses, blue jeans, and dark colored shoes,” came into the store and walked around. He locked the front door, took out a handgun from his jacket, walked toward the clerk and demanded money, police wrote.
Police described the suspect as “approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall, 180 pounds with a thin build.”
The clerk gave the suspect cash, then the suspect left and ran on Columbia Boulevard towards 16th Street, according to police.
